Dems Debate Last night

Last night was the beginning of a wonderful event in politics.... "The fake debates".

As I watched last night a couple of things came to mind.

1. Clinton, Obama, and Biden were for the most part strong throughout the process.

2. I want Mike Gravel at every debate and he must get more questions and air time. Then get his own show and I would watch.

3. John Edwards looked so pretty last night I thought he was posing for GQ not running for President. Not to mention he long pause as he looked toward God when they asked who is moral leader was. I though he was expecting God to come down and say" Oh that is me Brain, John looks up to me."

4. Bill Ricardson did a poor job overall. Too much hand movement and body movement. At times long winded and overextending his time. He needs to fine tune for the next debate.

5. Why were people in the audience fanning themselves with their programs? You would think a large great college like that would have the AC on?

6. If anyone gained or lost undecided people it would look like this for each......

1. Gravel: gained.... Why well if he went from 2 votes to 4 he still gets my vote as most entertaining and needs a position in the next administration anyway.

And the race for 2008 is on

Political pollsters need to justify their existence. Chief among them is Rassmusen Reports. The company has turned its efforts at handicapping the 2008 Presidential race.

For the Democrats :

Following Election 2006, the nation can look forward to our first female Speaker of the House. Another woman, Senator Hillary Clinton, is the initial frontrunner for the 2008 Democratic Presidential nomination. However, another freshman Senator, Barack Obama, is close on her heels.

The first release of the Rasmussen Reports 2008 Presidential Tracking Poll finds Clinton the choice of 29% while Obama has 22%. Former Vice President Al Gore is number three with 13% and the 2004 Vice Presidential nominee John Edwards is also in double digits at 10%. The Democrats' 2004 standard bearer, John Kerry, is the choice of just 4%.

Not only do I find it risible people are thinking seriously about Obama for president; but am actually relieved that only 4% wants Kerry back. John needs a looooong vacation away from the political spotlight. He ought to focus on becoming the next Chuck Schumer.

Oh Dear. This just in from Gawker

[via Breaking: Condi Rice Spends Salary on Shoes and Other condoleezza rice Stories : Gawker]:

What does surprise us: Just moments ago at the Ferragamo on 5th Avenue, Condoleeza Rice was seen spending several thousands of dollars on some nice, new shoes (we%u2019ve confirmed this, so her new heels will surely get coverage from the WaPo%u2019s Robin Givhan). A fellow shopper, unable to fathom the absurdity of Rice%u2019s timing, went up to the Secretary and reportedly shouted, %u201CHow dare you shop for shoes while thousands are dying and homeless!%u201D Never one to have her fashion choices questioned, Rice had security PHYSICALLY REMOVE the woman.

Angry Lady, whoever you are, we love you. You are a true American.

Unbelieveable people. Do we need any more reasons for booting the republicans out of office --from the White House down to City Hall? Do we need any more reasons!!

So Bloomberg is indeed the White House's yapping little dog

[via Rice: N.Y. 'Perfect Place' for 2012 Games - Yahoo! News]:

NEW YORK - Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice called New York the "perfect place" to hold the Olympics, lending her support during a rally Tuesday a week before the vote to decide the host of the 2012 Games.

... as she scratched Michael "soy tu perrita" Bloomberg behind the ears, to the delight of partisan flacks and the horror of the children, who were witnessing the Mayor's incessant drooling and gleeful leg thumping of the ground.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Rice's visit to City Hall will send a "powerful message" to the
International Olympic Committee that the city's bid has the "full and wholehearted support of the United States government."

A support that he wore with pride after graduating head of the class as the White House's new top perrita.

This great accomplishment was achieved earlier last week after Bloomberg showed the world how well he could wear his Repugblican approved rhetorical collar and how eager he was to let Karl Rove publicly jerk him with his ideological leash. Indeed, the Mayor was so happy he sniffed and humped any leg he could get..

Poll

Only in New York

“These guys just don’t know when to quit. The Senate Republicans holding an ethics hearing is like O.J. searching for the real killer. Senate Republicans should end the partisan theatrics and join the Governor in getting back to work on the real issues that matter to working families. Let’s end the show trial, leave the investigating to the investigators, and get back to work.”

— Jonathan Rosen for the New York State Democratic Committee
