Dems Debate Last night
Last night was the beginning of a wonderful event in politics.... "The fake debates".
As I watched last night a couple of things came to mind.
1. Clinton, Obama, and Biden were for the most part strong throughout the process.
2. I want Mike Gravel at every debate and he must get more questions and air time. Then get his own show and I would watch.
3. John Edwards looked so pretty last night I thought he was posing for GQ not running for President. Not to mention he long pause as he looked toward God when they asked who is moral leader was. I though he was expecting God to come down and say" Oh that is me Brain, John looks up to me."
4. Bill Ricardson did a poor job overall. Too much hand movement and body movement. At times long winded and overextending his time. He needs to fine tune for the next debate.
5. Why were people in the audience fanning themselves with their programs? You would think a large great college like that would have the AC on?
6. If anyone gained or lost undecided people it would look like this for each......
1. Gravel: gained.... Why well if he went from 2 votes to 4 he still gets my vote as most entertaining and needs a position in the next administration anyway.
2. Dennis K: neither... People are still being introduced to him.(Eddie Monster look-alike)
3. Clinton: gained... She played the rhetoric card at times and gave minor details other times. Very poised, presidential and avoided some pitfalls.
4.Obama: gained.... Also appeared Presidential and covered the Palestine question well with a good answer to Mr. MSNBC.
5. Chris D: neither... Did not stand out kinda maintained the status quo. Any guy with white hair and black eyebrows always scares me too.
6. Joe Biden: gained.... May become inmy mind a top tier candidate down the line if he plays his cards right despite not having the mega bucks
7. Edwards: lost: He reminded me of the time he and VP Cheney had a debate. He looked soft and eeds to be more assertive. this is the kind of style Republicans claim we will have when dealing with terrorism. Did take a shot or two at Clinton for what it was worth.
8. Bill Richardson: lost.... Too much hand and body movement. Seemed to be reaching for answers. Was the candidate the answered around the questions the most. Not good considering he will be VP if Clinton gets the nod in my opinion.
So that is what I think. Can not wait for the "Dark Side" debates in California soon.
2008 Elections | Al Gore | Barack Obama | Bill Clinton | Condoleezza Rice | Democratic Party | George W. Bush | Hillary Clinton | Howard Dean | John Edwards | Michael Bloomberg | US Senate

Gravel Facts
1) Gravel didn't losein the Reagan landlside, which might make him worthy of sympathy. He lost the primary to Gruening's grandson (tlak about poetic justice), which only proves how sick Alaskans were of his antics.
2) Gravel's campaign against Gruening Sr. featured a documtary spotlighting his service in World War Two, even though Gravel was 15 in 1945.
3) Gravel didn't break into tears at the convention; he did so on the floor of Congress while showboating.
4) In recent years he's been most famous for speaking in front of a group of holocaust deniers.

Gravel
Gravel is a turd. In 1968, he primaried and beat the heroic Ernst Gruening, one of only two US Senators who'd voted no on the Gulf of Tonkin fiasco. Gravel's campaign consisted of lies, distortions and vote buying (heavy on the Eskimos).
Sometime in his first term, he went off the deep end (was it contrition?). Too nutty even for McGovern (who picked Eagleton) to consider for a running mate, he nominated himself for Vice President at the 72 Democratic convention, breaking down in tears in the middle of his speech, and helping to delay McGovern's acceptance speech to 3AM.
In 74, Watergate helped save his re-election but by 80 the jig was up. Too crazy even for a state full of eccentrics, and stuck with a Reagan landslide to boot.
Nice though for nutball Kucinich to have some company.
