Public ed and a liberal fit
My answer -- "the hand that rocks the cradle. . ." -- is probably wishful thinking at this point.
We are homeschoolers. And unschoolers at that. And yet. . . born and raised and bound to be liberal Dems. And I'm not sure how large the Dem/liberal component of the hsing community is . . . there are no really solid statistics (thank goodness
). But I do wish and hope that the liberal/Dem policies and principles have room for parents being the guiding influence -- even in public ed.
My "family values" are all about explaining why the filibuster is important to my kids as they complain about how boring C-Span is. I want to take back "family values" as something that includes my family -- bleeding-heart liberal homeschoolers.
Nance (also in FL, Hi JJ, and thanks Liza for starting this blog -- although I seem to spend too much time following links from here to interesting items
)
