Feb. 20, 2007, 40th City Council Race: Who is your frontrunner pick?
I HEART NY | New York City | Democratic Party | Progressive Movement | Press
Well...
You could say that the poll was biased against some of the other candidates (who aren't listed) but how you figure it's biased towards Zenobia? I will point out that both Zenobia and Jesse Hamilton get support from the wider Owens crowd and Jesse is leading in the poll. So what's your beef? And people do know the bias of many here...want to reveal YOUR bias? I sure get the feeling you have an axe to grind given your comment.
For the record, it is just this kind of nasty, foolish remark that might bias me for whoever you are dissing. If Zenobia is pissing you off, she just might be worth considering. And for the record, I have so far liked Zenobia, Jesse and Moe having heard each of them once. So, if you have a preference among the many candidates, here's a thought: tell us who you like and why instead of giving dumb and substanceless comments.

NAmes
You guys cant even get the names correct. Its Mathieu Eugene...get it right already!
wow.....Thank you
Well the board of elections had it wrong then........ It's not bias these are the people I think can win this election. Do the numbers on the race and you will see. If you want to pitch from someone else go ahead. Thanks

Una????????
Can Una run again??? She was so good!!!!

Why do this now?
If you are doing a poll on this race, why didn't you guys wait until the ballot process(including challenges) was finished? That way you could include ALL the candidates. Wellington Sharpe is conspicuously missing from this poll, and he has the best voting numbers of any in this race; better than both McNally and Hamilton (the other two you have polled, have never run for piblic office). In the two losing races Sharpe ran in this area (Council 01 and Senate 02) he demonstrated that he could garner lots of votes. You need to pull down this poll and start over when the ballot-access process is finished.

Who!!
I like all 13 candidates. they are are nice to me!!!!!
13 candidates?
Look the if the 9 names that are missing concerns you then stand up for them. I doubt we will have all 13 on the ballot come Feb. 20, 2007. I figured these 4 well stay on. As for the remaining others that would be up in the air. Funny no one as mentioned the "other"race in the 51st City Council district?!?!?

Rock Hackshaw LOL Hello????
How are you? What an honor for you to grace my blog. Question????
Now that you are working for Wellington Sharpe as his"Deputy Campaign Manager" will you not be at the panel at Vox Pox on Jan. 24, 2007? You can not be impartial at this point. Since he "has the best numbers" LOL. That is funny but hey when you are with someone you really ride with them. Is cool though. LOL

Who's looking real
Rumor has it Sharpe submitted more signatures than anyone else, and that Schiffman's petitions look small and dicey.
Really?
Well Mo Razvi and Wellington, and Gerry Hopkins submitted the most"sheets" not "signatures". That is still up in the air and let the Board of Elections give the final numbers next week. I hear you though on the Schiffman part.

Numbers
The Board will only give numbers on petitions that are challenged; anything not challenged is presumed valid and they don't bother.

40th council seat
From where I sit, looks like more wanna bes than qualified candidates. What should be new to this part of Brooklyn. If Wellington Sharpe and Rock Hackshaw run another losing campaign, they might as well move to another borough, cause they ain't makin it in Brooklyn.
Board of Elections
Everyone is being challenged so like I said no one knows who has how many until next week and the beginning of February. You have still being fooled by the sheets. Wellington brought over 800 sheets in. With 5 signatures a sheet. So if even 60 percent are valid he is just at 3000 signatures. Please follow up at the Board of Elections for more detail. LOL and yes Rock loves a losing campaign once he signed on it was a load off my mind in regards to Wellington Sharpe.
Update: Rock just "finally" step down from the Vox Pop Forum on Jan. 24, 2007. Thanks Rock for trying to pull a fast one.

Keep it positive, please
General note: Rock in especially is a good friend of The Daily Gotham, and in my mind a decent human being, so let's keep the ad hominems out of this, please. My baseline assumption is that everyone involved here is acting honorably, and I'd request that this be shared by all other participants in this dialogue, to whom the same assumption and courtesy are extended.
Thank you.
The great Democratic tradition...
When in doubt, shoot at eachother.
I don't mind a little intraparty rough housing, but we usually have to all get together in the end. Of course we all can be like CBID...fight to the death over the tiny differences we have. I love the Dem party but we are a bunch of ornery drama queens, aren't we. And races like the 40th bring it out.

Everyone's had general
Everyone's had general objections filed against them. Has everyone really had specifics objections filed against them that will necessitate the Board determining numbers for everyone? I doubt it, and I'll bet you don't know. Anyway, everyone's sheets are street stuff, and while that means a little less in a non-partisan race (can't knock sigs off for being from the wrong party), everyone's numbers will be lower after scrutiny. Still, it appears Sharpe submitted more sigs than anyone else, and there's no reason to believe anyone else's sheets are of better quality, so volume probably rules.

GET REAL PLEASE.
First, I never tried to pull a fast one on you or anyone. Second, you invited me to be on the panel, and not the other way around. Third, at the time I accepted, I was not working for the Sharpe (or any other) campaign. Fourth, I had already confided to two of the panelists that I wouldn't be able to be on any panel, after I decided to support and work for Sharpe; I couldn't find a number to contact you. Another panel member confided to me that they too have tried to contact you with no successs. Fifth, even if Sharpe loses, he will still be my friend. We have been friends for near 20 years. Panels, debates and community candidate forums are usually loaded with people whose minds are already made up. The few undecideds in the audience usually have strong leanings towards certain candidates anyway. It's not the best place to go when looking for voters. These events are usually more ceremonial and symbolic than anything else. At this moment, I don't even know if Sharpe is coming to this or any such forum.
To "keeping the peace": Winston Churchill once said that "success comes by moving from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm". And BTW : I have had my share of winning campaigns; so get your facts straight.
Hey Rock your still the man.
Hey Rock your still the man. It truly is nothing personal. After the the next 29 days you and Carlos Bristol can buy me breakfast at the Galaxy Diner... LOL

Mole 333 good point
Your right mole333. But what is so fun and to think we still have the nassau county elections and a couple of civil court juge racs coming up in november too. Plus the winner of this race must run again and win the general election in november.

A little Biased Poll
This poll is way biased for Chris Owens Candidate Zenobia. We all know Owens supporters are heavy users of this site so it is not suprising at all.
