OK

Stopping Legislative dysfunction will help several other issues on the list. That includes police issues, cleaning up the senate, flipping the senate, and bringing money to the school system. You put up a bunch of great issues. This poll needs to be up for a while to get lots of feedback. If our elected officials actually did their jobs 2007 would be a lot easier.

Vacancy decontrol

Rent stabilization laws need to change. They need to up the threshold for decontrol from 2K to at least $3.5K a month for a two-bedroom. And we need to change the attitude in NYC that mixed-development is going to solve the problem of affordable housing in NYC. It has not happened yet --and the laws have been in effect for 10 years.

Clean Money, Clean Elections reform

Adopting CMCE (full public financing for campaigns) is our single and best hope for ensuring that special interests cannot block the rest of our progressive agenda.

All good issues

and the two that are getting the most votes are the most closely related - legislative reform and election reform. You could make a case that they are really tow aspects of the same issue, and I had trouble choosing between them.

Progress on every other issue listed on this poll is dependent on getting something done on these two.

Stopping global warming is not just about saving the environment for the hunters, fisherman, hikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts of today and tomorrow. Global warming is a matter of national security. Will we live in a world where we must fight our neighbors for fresh water and food?

— General Wesley Clark, quoted in Global Warming: The Last Chance for Change
