On a warm summer day in July 2007. Jose Rivera (Bronx Democratic Chairman) and Joseph J. Savino (Bronx GOPee Leader) met for lunch at the Seashore restaurant on City Island in the Bronx. J.C. Polanco was also there. Over the course of this lunch the planning and plotting was being conspired on, since that John Ravitz was resigning as the executive director of the New York City Board of Elections in October 2007. So at this lunch Jay Savino told Jose that he will not run for the senate seat anymore, like he was really any threat and also that J.C. Polanco would not run against Jose’s daughter Naomi Rivera for her assembly seat, oh please. So with that in mind Jose agreed to make J.C. Polanco the commissioner at the Board of Elections for the representation of the Bronx republicans. And also Jay and J.C. needed Jose Rivera’s influence over Christine Quinn, speaker the New York City Council, because the past four applicants (including Savino himself) for the commissioner’s job were all turned down by Christine Quinn and the rest of city council. Back in March 2007, Christine Quinn disapproved Jay Savino's application to become a Board of Elections commissioner and then certain Board of Election Commissioners had the nerve to bring his name up for job appointment vote, if Savino could not get approved as a commissioner how could he have been even considered for any other job at the Board, plus he is still under investigation and is not a resident of New York City. And with J.C. Polanco’s appointment to the Board of Elections now Jose had another commissioner in his pocket. But lets go back to that lunch.
After J.C. Polanco was decided with, now came the future of Jay Savino. Jay suggested to Jose that he would like to have John Ravitz’s job after Ravitz resigns. Jose said to Jay we will see about you getting appointed to that job. So after a few weeks Jay Savino started to rally for support to become the new executive director but he met with such opposition that he would have been voted against by a landslide. So Jay gives Jose a call and says that it does not look good for Ravitz’s job. So Jose comes up with an idea that since he is not on good terms with George Gonzalez who is the assistant executive director at the Board that he would have him voted out of his job so that Maria Baez who would be out of her job as city council member because of term limits can be voted in to replace Gonzalez. So Jay tells Jose over the phone that he would like the job as general counsel to the republican commissioners which is held by Charles Webb, who is a well accomplished lawyer. Now Charles Webb has been very supportive of Jay Savino from when Jay took over Bronx County GOP illegally. So now that Jay is becoming desperate for a job and with no help from Bloomberg, because he backed off when Jay fell under investigation last year due to the raid on the Board of Elections done by the New York City Department of Investigation.
So what does Jay start to do and only what comes naturally to him. He starts to backstab good old Charlie Webb, making up stories that Charlie is not doing his job the right way, that Charlie is not a good lawyer for the Board of Elections and that he meaning Jay can do a better job if appointed by the commissioner at the Board. So this is why Jay Savino was going to every Board of Elections commissioners meeting with J.C. Polanco. So the end result is that Jay Savino lost out and so did Jose Rivera. I think it is really low to take a person out of their job for no reason whatsoever.
I have to agree with Mayor Bloomberg on a few points, one is that our two party system is not working anymore and two, is that as stated in his State of the City address, he said that the New York City Board of Elections has to reformed and that the hiring of personnel at the Board should be done on merit based and not on political patronage. On the democratic side, from what I have heard is the democratic leaders over in Riverdale and in the Northeast Bronx are looking to take the chairman seat away from Jose Rivera. It has become a Latino rivalry war between the Rivera’s, Diaz’s, Espada’s, Serrano’s. It has also become a political dynasty of daddies, sons and daughters almost automatically getting elected. Oh I forgot on the republican side, there is another political dynasty of backstabbing of father to son Jay Savino’s daddy Joseph (Machine Guns and Pistols) Savino, former city councilmember/felon. With Savino and Rivera as the chairmen’s of both the Bronx Republican and Democratic parties, these two people redefine one of the poorest places in our nation – The Bronx. With these people at the political helm, the Bronx has no chance of ever having economic good times.
It is one thing to be disliked and still get respect, but Mr. Savino you are just disliked by many. Let me know when you have a house warming party at your new home in Rockland County. Are these men loyal to their political party - NO WAY JOSE!

As for Maria Baez, the IQ of a turkey is not much. If a turkey holds its mouth open to a rainfall long enough, it does not have the common sense to close its mouth because of too much rainfall, therefore the turkey drowns.
