On September 12, 2006 DDDB officially went the way of dodo. This group headed by the self-riotous, egotistical moron know as Daniel Goldstein will never be a factor in Brooklyn politics ever again. Well at least as long as Daniel the idiot keeps running the show.
All DDDB had to do was work hard for one candidate, Bill Batson and they didn’t even do that. I know they raised some money and went out and petitioned and canvassed a few times but it wasn’t enough. Now there were a few very active DDDB members in the Batson campaign and they should be commended. The first person that comes to mind is Raul Rothblatt, who kicked ass for Bill Batson and Chris Owens for 4 straight months. If the leaders of DDDB had half a brain they would leave this group to people like Raul, who actually care about the community and put their money where there mouth is.
However, it maybe too late for DDDB, all their candidates lost. If Bill had the proper funding and volunteer support from DDDB I think he would have won. Bill controlled the key issue of the campaign and had a tremendous upswing if he could only disseminate that one point. Even Chris Owens, would have had a better chance of victory if the DDDB people could have taken care of their own backyard with their supposed 400 + block captains. Unfortunately, it was always the same handful of people who kept coming out to help Chris and Bill. Those people where great. You know who you are and you should not take any of the aforementioned statements to heart because they are not directed at you.
I know what people are going to say they are a 501c3 they can’t get involved, and if you believe that I have bridge to sell you.
Everyone knew DDDB was supporting certain candidates and their inability to rally the troops was inexcusable. Mr. Goldstein please leave Brooklyn, you have burned down bridges with countless politicians and you were so weak you couldn’t get anyone who remotely liked you elected. NO ONE WHO MATTERS CAN STAND YOU SO PLEASE LEAVE BEFORE WE HAVE TO KICK YOU OUT OF OUR BOROUGH.
And to the rest of DDDB I like most of you and am 100% behind your fight, just kick your egomaniacal leader out and things will start to look much better.
