I should note that Cheryl Gonzales has already been endorsed by New Kings Democrats, the 52nd District County Committee (which my wife and I are a part of), Lambda Independent Democrats, and the Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats (which my wife is an officer of). I know nothing about Cheryl Gonzales' opponent because she has not attended most of these forums and did not submit a candidate questionnaire to the 52nd District County Committee, which I studied in some detail. All I know is that Cheryl Gonzales' opponent is supported by the Vito Lopez machine, and though that is not always the kiss of death for me, since Vito does occasionally endorsed qualified candidates, in general Vito Lopez candidates are chosen for their subservience to Vito Lopez and not their qualifications.
