NYC to Pennsylvania Bus Trip for Healthcare Reform

This comes from someone I know from IND who has been tireless in working with Democrats in Pennsylvania first to get Obama elected, and then to get healthcare reform passed. I urge anyone who can to join in on this important road trip:

Please join me in canvassing Easton, Pennsylvania for health care reform on Saturday, October 17th. We’ll be showing our strength and urging fellow Democrats to support for President Obama’s principles of reform.

The next several weeks will find us at a critical crossroad for the future of health care in America, a crossroad for the economic future and stability of American families for generations to come. Last year we got on the bus to fight for the right to make it to this pivotal place. But our work is not done. Here’s how you can help.

Please join me in Easton, PA on October 17th. Please, Get BACK on the Bus for Health Care!

I’m very proud of our New York City congressional delegation and our two senators. Not only are they supportive of health care reform, but they are also working hard to improve the legislation moving its way through Congress. Senator Schumer, in particular, has been a tireless advocate of the public option, which is the most effective way of creating the sustainable cost structure upon which universal health care must be mounted.

But all members of Congress around the region are not onboard. So, the best way we can keep this critical legislation on track is to help our friends in neighboring states to get out the word. That’s why I’m going back to Pennsylvania on October 17th to join with our partners in Organizing for America, the same fired-up-and-ready-to-go bunch we worked with last year to score President Obama’s historic win for working Americans. Today, I'm asking you to join me once again.

Please, Get Back on the Bus for Health Care!

We will depart from Port Authority Bus Terminal (South Terminal, 8th Ave. btwn 40th & 41st St.), Saturday, October 17th, 9:00 am, aboard Trans-Bridge Bus Lines. The bus to Easton should depart from Gate 6, 8 or 10. Please arrive early to purchase your ticket on the South Terminal main floor and make your way downstairs to the gate. Bus tickets are $36.05 round trip. Return buses are at 4:05 and 6:10 pm, arriving back in the city at 5:55 and 8:00 pm, respectively.

Thank you to everyone for your time and commitment. Please RSVP to this e-mail address so I can provide a headcount to our Organizing for America (OFA)* hosts.

Very best wishes,

Tom Predhome

*OFA is the successor organization to the Obama campaign.
