The ONLY Chance the State is Giving Brooklyn to Preserve Their Neighborhoods
On Wednesday, August 23rd, the Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC)–the lead State agency for "Atlantic Yards"–will hold a Public Hearing on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for Forest City Ratner’s proposed "Atlantic Yards" project.
This hearing is the only opportunity our community will have to speak out publicly about the DEIS. Please be there!
When: Wednesday, August 23rd, 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Where: New York City Technical College, Klitgord Auditorium, 285 Jay Street (@ MetroTech, between Tillary & Johnson)
Mass Transit Access: A/C/F to Jay Street, M/N/R to Lawrence Street, 2/3/4/5 to Borough Hall
Remember, tonight is your ONLY chance to comment on the project that former Clinton White House advisor and Attorney General candidate Sean Patrick Maloney called "...the face of what’s wrong with a corrupt culture that mixes business and politics, profits and tax dollars."
Tonight is your ONLY chance to comment on the project that Urban Planner and former City Planning Commissioner Ron Shiffman says "...follows a process that is fundamentally flawed in pursuit of a plan that, if implemented, would scar the borough for decades to come..."
Tonight is your ONLY chance to comment on the project that has been plagued with lies and corruption.
Tonight is the small crumb that the state is giving you so they can claim that the process was fair and open even though most politicians, including Eliot Spizter, feel that the state has not given the community enough time to review and respond.
Tonight is your chance to stand up for Brooklyn.
