On November 6 at Cooper Union's Great Hall, PEN American Center will resent a major tribute to the writer and activist Grace Paley, whose career spanned 50 years, but whose legacy has made a lasting impact on the world and its readers. Whether fighting for equal rights for women, or protesting American foreign policy and our involvement in other countries, Paley was an avid defender of free expression and human rights. The passions of her life-political engagement, family, her love for New York City and her friends-animated her poetry and short stories, making Paley one of the world's most beloved contemporary writers.

This event is free and open to the public. Seating is by general admission, on a first-come, first-served basis
