Drum Major Institute Hosts a Discussion About an Urban Agenda

9 Mar 2006 - 6:00pm

When was the last time you heard a presidential candidate talk about cities?

EXACTLY!

Please Join the Drum Major Institute in a conversation about the challenges of today's Urban America, and how we can put a re-envisioned urban agenda on the national landscape.

Featuring Byron Brown, Mayor, Buffalo, New York

Prior to his election, Mayor Brown served five years in the New York State Senate where he was the first African-American elected outside of New York City. Mayor Brown also made history by becoming the first minority member of the New York State Senate to represent a majority white district. A native of Queens, New York, Mayor Brown came to Buffalo as a college freshman, earning a dual Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Journalism from Buffalo State College. Mayor Brown has been recognized by Ebony Magazine as one of the "30 Leaders of the Future."
