A friend of DFNYC Outreach Director Andrew Kling is organizing people to help out with the Katrina relief efforts. There are many ways to help out, and there is a meeting tonight to find out more:

Andrew's friend is organizing a group to charter a convoy of buses from New York to visit the refugee shelters and bring back displaced individuals, pairing them with people in the New York, Boston, and Connecticut area who have offered to house them by listing their information on the internet on places like Craig's List and other sites. Upon their return, we also will be organizing counseling and psychological support for families and victims of this tragedy.
