The New York City Bill of Rights Defense Campaign, the New York Civil Liberties Union and People for the American Way present the:
Patriot Act-SHUN Rally
Tuesday, July 12 @ 12 PM
New York Public Library, 41st St. & 5th Ave.
Rally calling on Congress to reform the Patriot Act and to support corrective legislation such as the SAFE Act and Civil Liberties Restoration Act, which would restore meaningful checks and balances to Patriot Act powers. Activists, political leaders, actors, writers and performers will gather in front of the New York Public Library on Tuesday, July 12 at 12 PM, and using humor, irony, and perhaps even some music will raise awareness about the threats the Patriot Act poses to our rights and the need to reform it.
Congressional lawmakers will meet this month to vote on legislation to expand the Patriot Act.
