Any Soldier Street Drive in Park Slope
Start:
Sat, 08/06/2005 - 9:00am
The August Any Soldier street drive, organized by Dave Robinson in partnership with the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture and Old First Reformed Church, is scheduled for Saturday, August 6th from 9:00am to 5:00pm in front of Old First, 7th Avenue and Carroll Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn. You can help by coming out and writing a letter or post card to our soldiers and making a donation in the form of tangible support for our people in Iraq and Afghanistan. Bring food, personal hygiene and other everyday consumer items our people over there so desperately need. Find out more what our soldiers are asking for at www.anysoldier.com/wheretosend
Dave Robinson, who spear-heads this monthly effort, sends his gratitude to all of you, an ever-growing number of New Yorkers who have very different political opinions but are united in support of our soldiers. He extends his especial thanks to Karen, Bernadette, Chuck, Tom, Robyn, Jill, Laura, and of course Reverend Meeter as well Lisel and Fiona at Brooklyn Ethical for all their help over the last few months.
For the upcoming drive, Dave is asking anyone with access to a car if they could please help him out, especially with getting him home with all the stuff on Saturday afternoon. If you or someone you know could help him at 5:30pm on Sat. Aug 6 take the donations from Old First to his home in Carroll Gardens, a 10-minute drive, he would so greatly appreciate it. So if you can help Dave help our soldiers, please email or call him.
Dave also welcomes help during the drive to help pass out flyers and talk to neighbors and fellow citizens about Any Soldier. Any time you can give would be fantastic and really makes a difference.
