Hearing in NYC on NY State draft voting machine regulations.

Where: 250 Broadway, Senate Hearing Room, Room 1920 (across from City Hall)

Draft voting machine regulations reflecting changes in state law to comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), were recently posted on the Board of Election's web site. These regulations will dictate the certification of voting systems for purchase in New York state. The Board of Elections will hold three public hearings on this issue including this one in NYC on December 20. Please attend and demand that PB/OS machines be submitted for certification.

Persons wishing to present testimony at any of the above hearings should contact the State Board (NYS Board of Elections, 40 Steuben Street, Albany, NY 12207-2108). Oral testimony will be limited to 10 minutes duration and 10 copies of the prepared testimony should be submitted on the day of the hearing. Those who do not have prepared testimony or who did not contact the Board prior to the hearing date and wish to speak, will be allotted up to 5 minutes to do so at the end of the session.
