- The politics of parsing- I am going to get a lot of hell for this one, but honestly, it's just too good to pass up. Here's a clip put together by the John Edwards camapaign, capitalizing on Hillary Clinton's fumbling on last Tuesday's primary debate. Wow. It's the one debate I chose not to watch because it had Tim Russert as the moderator ... and I just hate his Botoxed eyes. Who knew it would be "the debate" to watch?!?
- So let me get this straight- "Voters" are run around in circles for a year and a half before the primaries. They are wrung for every penny they have because "that's how we get people elected". We are given frames and triangulation, swift boats and pile-ons in the name of democracy. Yet when it comes time to count our vote, it's the superdelegates who get to play center stage? Are voters just stand-ins, background and bit players in what amounts to "other people's" political theater?

Obama supporters in New York are stepping up our activities as we move toward super-duper Tuesday. We've been registering new voters, signing up supporters and volunteers, distributing literature and stickers and spreading hope. Yesterday, Lamont, one of my favorite Obama supporters, led a "Walk for Obama" up Broadway from Union Square to Columbus Circle. I'll admit that when I first heard his plan, I thought it might be a bit overly ambitious.
