Fidler was at the United Progressives Dinner/Dance last Thursday. He was taken around to the club members tables and introduced. Kruger (who was a darling of this club) was nowhere in sight nor should he have been. It's possible that the district when redrawn will take on more of Fidler's Council district since a lot of Kruger's current district is trending Republicon. Kruger had the backing of the Orthodox Community and also the Russian leaders but I hear that the Republicons already have a candidate for this seat. I know his 1st name is Fred and his last name starts with a "K" but I don't remember what his last name is. The problem with this is that he currently doesn't live in Kruger's district, he lives in Golden's district. If Kruger resigns and a special is held he can't run but if Kruger stays to the bitter end (and this SOB would do that to screw the district) then he can run while living in Golden's district. I believe Freddie is 32, unmarried and Orthodox.

As for redistricting, Golden may want to get more into the Gravesend area, which is now trending more and more Republicon and is closer than Marine Park. I've heard that a couple of the Democrats in the Assembly want their districts redrawn to give them more Democratic voters. One person who I think wants to hold onto her district lines is Diane Savino.

Question, isn't it Cuomo who redraws the Congressional lines? I heard that NYC (including the boroughs) will probably lose a Democratic seat and upstate will lose a Republican seat. If this is so, whose seat do you see being eliminated?
