Central Brooklyn Eating Liberally Oct. 11th, Bar Tano

This month's Central Brooklyn Eating Liberally meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 11th at 7 PM at Bar Tano in Gowanus. I have always considered expanding into Gowanus for our restaurant choices, and thanks to Cheryl I have finally done it. And for Rosalie this also means I've finally added an Italian restaurant to our rotation.

Bar Tano
457 3rd Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11215-3814(718) 499-3400
Check out their menu here: http://bartano.com/dinnerMenu.htm

We can discuss the disastrous primary and special election in Sept. as well as the Occupy Wall Street movement. I have been pushing a complementary action to the Occupy Wall Street movement which is targeting the four worst banks in America:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/10/05/1023135/-Dont-Just-Occupy!-Divest!

And I know others in the group are involved with the opposition to Wal Mart in NYC, which I feel is also an important part of the fight against the corporate jihad against unions and working class America. If they can make it this month it might be a good chance to get an update on Wal Mart.  read more »

Sept. 13th, 2011 Central Brooklyn Eating Liberally: Cafe Steinhof 7 PM

This month we can tell Hurricane Irene stories, discuss Libya and think about what comes next for local politics.

I should note that the primary and special elections are at the same time. If there is anyone who wants to skip the meeting to campaign for Cheryl Gonzales or David Weprin, contact Lambda Independent Democrats and tell them you want to help where Cheryl Gonzales and David Weprin's districts overlap (which is basically the Brooklyn part of Weprin's district). That is the most critical place for campaigning.

To volunteer email: LIDBrook...@gmail.com

or call: 917.499.8198 or 917.696.1781

For those who are attending Eating Liberally, please join us at Cafe Steinhof in the South Slope. 422 7th Ave (at 14th St) for some great Austrian food. Check out their menu here: http://www.cafesteinhof.com/html/dinner.html

Read my review of the restaurant here.

But I do urge people to spend some time that day helping out Lambda Independent Democrats or New Kings Democrats elect Cheryl Gonzales and David Weprin.  read more »
