PBOS to become the City Council's official position
This Wednesday, March 14, the City Council will pass Resolution 131, which calls for the adoption of a precinct-based optical scan (PBOS) voting system instead of the dreaded DREs.
There's going to be a celebratory rally and press conference on the City Hall steps that afternoon, starting at 1:00. Come early -- and wear something that goes with red tote bags.

The few, the missing
Aside from the speaker (Quinn) and the committee chair (Felder), the only others not listed as sponsors are Fidler, Recchia. Rivera and Yassky.
We'll see how they vote on Wednesday.
FUCK YASSKY!!
The bastard directly told a room full of progressives that he "didn't care" about voting machines. I guess he was being honest. I have kept a basically favorable view of him despite my opposition to him in the CD-11 race and despite my wife's growing distrust of him.
But if even after Florida is abandoning its DRE machines, the National Institute of Standards and Technology is advocating decertification of DRE, and increasing evidence shows that DRE machines are little better than hugely expensive paperweights, Yassky still doesn't care.
Fuck him. I am about done excusing his lack of interest in actual issues.

About time!
Did Yassky finally start caring?
This is one thing we can thank Yvette for co-sponsoring before the CD-11 race.
