It's Crazy

Am I the only one who wants to smack those asshole right-wingers who keep talking about the "Democrat Party" instead of "Democratic Party" -- and those wimpy-ass Democrats who just roll over and let them get away with it?

Just curious.

Well...

What I always think is "Gee, you'd think the 'English Only' crowd would actually know how to speak English." To me it just makes them sound ignorant.

So who's telling anyone?

To me, it makes them sound arrogant -- and someone needs to smack that arrogant grin off their faces.

Some Democratic representative, when faced with this garbage, should retaliate in kind, by calmly referring to them as the "Republic" party, or as "Republics." Then, when they react, the Democratic representative can accuse them of being whiny little children who can dish it out but can't take it.

In other words, out-smug the smug.

Dan, that's what I do

Many times posting on blogs I call them the Republic Party. Actually, we should just igore them when they call it the Democrat Party. By making comments or correcting them we're buying into their childish behavior, and that's what they are a bunch of children.

All I have to say is that I

All I have to say is that I don't let the Republicant Party, a.k.a the Rethuglican Party, a.k.a. the Publican Party, get away with it, and neither should you.

What's good for the goose and all that....

Dan Jacoby / Rosalie: Yes,

Dan Jacoby / Rosalie:

Yes, yes, yes!

I can't believe how many times I've heard the Republicans
use the word "Democrat" as an adjective, with that sly,
unspoken pejorative connected to it. And it occurs
in mainstream media (not just on Fox News)
or even right in front of a Democrat-- excuse me,
Democratic-- congressman, when two opposing congressmen
are side by side.

And these insults have been going on for a long time!
Remember it was Dole who referred to "Democrat wars",
back in '76.

I'm a little troubled with the remedy of actively taking
up the misuse and proliferating it until it is meaningless
and omnipresent; ie, Democrats themselves adopting "democrat"
as their adjective.

We do have to follow up and return in kind the abuse of the
language: refer to Republicans as "Republics" and use
"Republic" instead of "Republican", when using the
adjective.

Jesus, though, it's so g-d- petty... this is what the
Republics do and they're so good at it and so much
better at it than we Democratics-- i mean, Democrats.
