Summer heatwave photoblogging
Every once in a while, I take a camera along on my daily rounds; here's some things I saw yesterday.

Britannia still rules the waves in the more exclusive anchorages of the city. It's cheaper to register your big-ass yacht in some forgotten outpost of Empire than in this country, after all.

Across the street from Chelsea Piers, USA Interactive is currently raising its new Frank Gehry-designed HQ. Funny thing is, the building looks just like an iceberg, which is ironic considering Titanic was supposed to anchor at Pier 59.

This one's for Gatemouth: what's on your iPod?

Heh. An overflowing trash can with David Yassky's name on it.

Take that, you red staters with your damn confederate flags.

Coming up: Paul Van Dyk in Central Park. I am so there.

Speaking of which, Roxy's over. That marks the final closure of a nightclub Nina Hagen mentioned in 'New York, New York', the others being the Mud Club and Danceteria.

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young are coming to town; time for Bloomie to rev up the suppression machine again.

On 14th Street; at least there's some movement on the whole WTC mess, I guess.

Further down 14th, three of five concepts driving this town; the other two being money and power. Sweet.

Speaking of sex: is it not possibly the most awkward thing imaginable to step into a place like this and ask a perfect stranger for an ass wax or something like that?

An odd juxtaposition in the subway; how very republican of them. Not that that crowd is rushing to sign up, mind you.

Williamsburg, home of the snappy slogan and the trust-fund hippies hipsters who make them.

Speaking of American fascism, these days, you can't even smoke unmolested outside a biker bar. This has gone way too far, people.

If you want to become a trust-fund hippie wealthy republican lucky winner of the Bush era lotto millionaire, you better get your tickets in a place god must whole-heartedly approve of.
And that's that for today. Let the heatwave commence.

Someone told me about this
Someone told me about this ealier today, but now there don't seem to be any photos. Was going to post my play list, but now there doesn't seem to be any point.
