How Proud I Am
And how happy. My only regret is that I'm not in D.C. for the festivities. I just finished watching the concert and it was fantastic. I go back to the Kennedy era and I never remember anything like this when he was elected (I was too young to vote for him but my parents did and were proud that they helped elect a president from their era).
When I think of the election of President-Elect Obama I think of the song "Coming Out Of The Dark." For 8 years our country has been in darkness and now there is a light at the end of the tunnel, a new beginning for America. We have a renewed sense of what being an American means and we have hope. Hope that we have not had for 8 long years.
