Establishment rallies behind Dahroug

Take a closer look at this invite for State Senate candidate Jimmy Dahroug. Jimmy is a true grassroots candidate, endorsed inter alia by NDM, DFA, DFNYC, and a whole host of labor unions, running against an ancient republican incumbent, Caesar Trunzo. The latter has held the seat representing the Third Senate district since what eems like the dawn of time.
What's interesting about his campaign is this: the entire Democratic establishment has now closed ranks behind the insurgent. As host committees go, that's pretty impressive.
Say what you will about New York Democrats: this is a real example of the party embracing the grassroots. I am truly impressed.

Yeah.
Can't say that I disagree. However, I do recall that Eric Schneiderman showed up at an event for Keeler some time ago, and I'm not that familiar with the race, so there may be more activity going on.
But who knows?

oy.
don't take this anything against jimmy. jimmy is a fantastic candidate and i am so, so, so glad to see the dem establishment rally around him. it's about damn time.
but, substitute "brian keeler", "steve saland" and "41st district"
for "jimmy dahroug", "ceasar trunzo" and "third district".
what i'll say about New York Democrats is this: that their "embracing of the grassroots" is far, far too rare and that this one very worthy example isn't enough to disprove the notion that the NY dem establishment still doesn't "get" the grassroots/netroots movement in their own backyard.
and that's a fact.
