By the way, you're needed here in New York, too
As does everyone under the sun, I'm sure you too get about one or two emails every day calling on you to head out to Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, New Hampshire, wherever, and once there, to go knocking on doors, man phonebanks, all that good stuff. And there is great value in that; I did it in 2004 myself.
Allow me to suggest, though, that you're needed here at home as well. We're probably going to take three House seats - NY-29 (Eric Massa), NY-13 (Mike McMahon), and NY-25 (Dan Maffei) - and hopefully six Senate seats, like this one and this one and this one and this one, just to name a few.
Obama is going to win Pennsylvania.
And Ohio.
And Florida.
So before you run out of state - which, if you decide to do so, is awesome, and more power to you - see if there isn't a critical race closer to home. Odds are, there is.

Two critical races in NYC
Yes, Queens is part of NYC, and there are two critical state Senate races right here.
Joe Addabbo is challenging Serphin Maltese. Addabbo is believed to have an excellent chance of winning, but nothing is guaranteed.
His campaign is canvassing this Saturday and Sunday, from 11-3, and next weekend as well. They are also phonebanking on weekday evenings.
The campaign HQ is at 65-17 Myrtle Avenue in Glendale (yes, that's in Queens). Take the M train to Fresh Pond Rd., walk south to Cypress Hills St. & turn left. Take another left on Myrtle Ave. and walk about a block.
You can reach the campaign HQ at 718-366-4057.
The tougher race is Jim Gennaro vs. Frank Padavan. Gennaro has outraised Padavan by about 4-1, but Padavan is an institution with a history of constituent services.
Gennaro has a "victory rallly" this Saturday at 11:00 at the campaign HQ, 25-32 168 Street, on the corner of Frances Lewis Blvd. and 168 St. Take the #7 train to the end of the line; call Costa at the HQ (347-438-1420) for a 10:30 pickup from the end of the #7 to the rally.
