So Bloomberg is indeed the White House's yapping little dog
[via Rice: N.Y. 'Perfect Place' for 2012 Games - Yahoo! News]:
NEW YORK - Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice called New York the "perfect place" to hold the Olympics, lending her support during a rally Tuesday a week before the vote to decide the host of the 2012 Games.
... as she scratched Michael "soy tu perrita" Bloomberg behind the ears, to the delight of partisan flacks and the horror of the children, who were witnessing the Mayor's incessant drooling and gleeful leg thumping of the ground.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Rice's visit to City Hall will send a "powerful message" to the
International Olympic Committee that the city's bid has the "full and wholehearted support of the United States government."
A support that he wore with pride after graduating head of the class as the White House's new top perrita.
This great accomplishment was achieved earlier last week after Bloomberg showed the world how well he could wear his Repugblican approved rhetorical collar and how eager he was to let Karl Rove publicly jerk him with his ideological leash. Indeed, the Mayor was so happy he sniffed and humped any leg he could get..
After a few run-around Ms. Rice's legs and a sack full of quibbles and bits, they retired to Bloomberg's $75 million dog house at City Hall; while New Yorkers where left out in the rain.
All in a morning's worth of Repugblican work.

Check the link. . .
I followed the link for the sentence " Bloomberg showed the world how well he could wear his Repugblican approved rhetorical collar and how eager he was to let Karl Rove publicly jerk him with his ideological leash." and it led to an article that mentioned that Bloomberg was "was the only Republican yesterday to come close to condemning the remarks,".
I followed another link in an post below to an NY Sun with similar language in the link, and the article pointed out that Bloomberg did criticize the Rove's remarks.
Obviously, his criticism wasn't as forceful as one may like, but I don't think the language in the links fairly represents the tone of the articles linked to.
He said very little
All he said, as I recall, was "no one should politicize 9/11." No direct mention of Rove...or Cunningham...or Bush himself. No call for apology, no real condemnation. I wouldn't even call it criticism, merely a weak suggestion. I'm sorry, but given the constant exploitation of 9/11 and the memories of our dead by Republicans, Bloomberg just isn't standing up for NYC at all. Sure, he was better than Pataki who largely stood up for Rove, but since when are weak defenses the New York way? If he wants to represent New York, he had better be a stronger and louder advocate for New York's interests. Otherwise he should step aside and let someone who REALLY represents NYC take over.
Pataki is far worse. He actually screws NYC every way he can and NO ONE in NYC should vote for him.
