Live from NYU, it's Parks1 Mayoral Candidate's Forum : The milling in edition

Supposedly a turf war broke out earlier, with all the Democrats duking it out with posters. The NYU area around Skirball Center is just littered with campaign fliers and posters.

BTW, the Skirball Center looks nice. All the good re-development of NYU has happened after I left 8 years ago; when the building here was called the Loeb Center. My first USA college cafeteria ... and my last. Lived on falafels for about 2 years --and not of the O'Reilly kind.

Anyway ...

People are steadily milling in. I'm in the media area, which actually has a really good view of the whole place. I came in a bit on the early side to get the best seat in the house ... and I forgot my camera. Fudge! But I promise to put the podcasts later tonight.

So who's here? Ben from The Observer (sans laptop! WTF!), Jen Chung from Gothamist, David Alpert of The Tank. There's people here from NYC, NYNBC, NYABC and several newspapers.

Musical offering? Blinded by Science.

UPDATE:
Nice little detail : the diversity in the public is really palpable. When I get invited to these events I am usually the only person in the room with melanin to spare. This crowd? Not only is it very New York, but the age range here is excellent.

Bravo for Parks1!

With a hattip to Jen of the Gothamist

Interns were yelling at each other for stapling thier guy's poster into another guy's poster.

The liveblog thread of commentary is hilarious. Eefers goes on a tear near page two. Way to blog diva.

In some ways

This illustrates why it's hard for Dems to win. We spend all our time yelling at eachother for stapling over eachother's posters while the Repubs corner the media and get their message right to people's TV sets. Ah, well. I guess if we didn't behave that way we wouldn't be Democrats.
